First select the Mass tab in the Copy Specification window. Here you then set Product Specifcation for source and Commercial Spec for destination specification. The selected IDs are copied from source to destination specifications.

To copy, follow the steps below:

Before actually copying, apropriate data are collected and displayed accordingly.

Criteria in Source Specification (Product Specification)

Item Enter or select an item of specification to copy. Make use of the % wildcard.
Item Name Enter or select a name of the item. Make use of the % wildcard.
Prim. Categ. Set a primary category ID. Make use of the % wildcard.
Sec. Cat. Set a secondary category ID. Make use of the % wildcard.
Alternate Enter or select an alternate. Here you can select items with alternates included in specifications. You can either select an active alternate or alternates between valurs from 0 to 255. The selected alternate is entered in the list of specifications to copy.
Copy Sublevels Check Copy Sublevels for items of item type P, C or U. This way specifications get copied to sublevels.
Take into Account Set-Up Time Checking Take into Account Set-Up Time affects calculation of volume in operations. Having checked it the volume in operations is calculated so that the amount of set-up time is added to production time and this is divided by optimum quantity of source item that is recorded in the Items register.

Product Item Type / Component Item Type

Product Item Type

(a list of item types)

Check item type(s) to include.
Component Item Type

(a list of item types)

Check component item types to include in copying. Those you leave unchecked, of course, won't be used when copying.

Mode

Overwrite Spec If selected, the existing specification is overwritten with source specification.
Append at End of Spec If selected, all lines of source specification will be appended to the existing specification.
Add Missing Spec Lines If selected, lines of source specification will be added to the existing specification.

Criteria of Destination Specification (Commercial Spec)

Quantity Equation Set a mode used in copying quantities, scrap and waste. The following options are made available:
  • - Quantity of commercial specification is equivalent to the quantity of product specification. Shrinkage recorded in commercial specification includes total scrap and waste quantities (scrap + waste).
  • - Quantity of commercial specification is equivalent to the quantity of product specification (quantity + scrap + waste). Shrinkage recorded in commercial specification includes total scrap and waste quantities (scrap + waste).
  • - Quantity of commercial specification is equivalent to the quantity of product specification (quantity - scrap - waste). Shrinkage recorded in commercial specification includes total scrap and waste quantities (scrap + waste).
  • - Quantity of commercial specification is equivalent to total of quantity and scrap (quantity + scrap). Shrinkage recorded in commercial specification is equivalent to waste in product specification.
  • - Quantity of commercial specification is equivalent to total quantity, scrap and waste (quantity + scrap + waste). Shrinkage recorded in commercial specification is equivalent zero (0).

Having entered criteria click the Refresh Data button to generate a list containing specifications that meet set criteria.

Mass Copy Specs List:

Sel. If checked, it marks a specification to be copied. You can do this by using right-click menu as well.

Item Displays an ID of item.
Alt. Enter or select an alternate of source specification. It is displayed in accordance with value entered in the Alternate field. You can change it in case you selected Active which is equivalent to All (Null value). Because commercial specification does not support alternates, you cannot copy all of them. Click the field to open a lookup table from which you can select the alternate accordingly.
Name Displays a name of item in line of specification.
Prim. Cat. Displays a primary category ID.
Secondary Categ. Displays a secondary category ID.

Then click Copy to launch operation. The process of copying an individual item is the same as when copying single product specification to commercial specification.
