Document type settings

In Step 6 of the Setup Wizard for Documentation, you can link the archive and classifications to document types.

This setting for the document type defines how the document is classified upon being imported into documentation and where it is stored.

HINT

A document archive is best thought of as a file cabinet, while classification would be a file folder in the cabinet. Based on the above settings, you can define in which archive (cabinet) and classification (file folder) each document type should be placed in the document storage.

 

Here is a description of the form and its individual elements.

1. Filter

In the Filter section, select the criteria for displaying the document types in the table. The section contains the following fields:

Document type

Filter the display by document type. You can search for the document type by entering it into the field or selecting it from the drop-down list.

Clicking the (magnifier) icon opens a special search engine where you can perform the search using several document types at the same time.

Archive

Filter the display by archive. You can search for the archive by entering it into the field or selecting it from the drop-down list.

Clicking the (magnifier) icon opens a special search engine where you can perform the search using several archives at the same time.

Classification

Filter the display by classification. You can search for the classification by entering it into the field or selecting it from the drop-down list.

Clicking the (magnifier) icon opens a special search engine where you can perform the search using several classifications at the same time.

2. Document types table

The document types table displays all document types according to the filters you have selected. In each line, you can specify an archive and classification assigned to the document type. The table contains the following fields.

Doc. type (Document type)

Shows the ID and name of the document type.

Archive

Shows the archive assigned to the document type. The archive can be assigned by selecting it from the drop-down list.

Classification

Shows the classification assigned to the document type. The classification can be assigned by selecting it from the drop-down list of classifications.

Test settings

Clicking on the field displays the Test button. Clicking this button checks whether the combination of settings for this line is correct.

If the combination of settings is not correct, an IRIS message appears.

3. Form footer

In the footer of the form, there are buttons to navigate between the steps of the Setup Wizard.

Returns to the previous step of the Setup Wizard.

Next

Moves to the next step of the Setup Wizard.
