Creating a Specification
Creating a Specification
Creating a specification involves editing, viewing, verifying and deleting specifications.
For creating product specification use standard icon
for new record. Product specification form will go to insert mode. Go to Item field and search your item to create new product specification or select one item that already had product specification for update or edit.

Then set an active alternate. Normally, use value 0 when creating specification. This is followed by determining (by calculating, assessing) the optimum quantity required for assembly.
Check whether the set default document is appropriate (change it if necessary). In the end enter the standard quantity produced daily.
Use a special search table for finding items by right-clicking and selecting the Find Item command. You can also use the "Ctrl+F" shortcut. By using CTRL+F shortcut it checks whether the item concerned has a specification or not. If the item does not include specification, a notification is displayed and the item is rejected.

General information that can be found in specification header are dealt with in detail in a separate topic. Furthermore, use the Alternate panel to set to schedule individual specification's alternates. For more information see next topic.
Proceed by adding lines of material and work operations to specification. If required, you can rearrange lines in any order you want. Confirming the last added line or after having finished rearranging lines and you select some other item in specification header (or by quitting the program), you finish creating the specification.
You can also copy specifications (wizards menu). The function is described in a separate topic.
To change a spec you have to follow similar steps as when creating new specification. First you have to open an already existing specification and make changes accordingly.
Usually another user verifies specification (Check Spec Structure in wizards menu). He or she views it and enters (selects) date and time of revision.
You can delete specifications by using the command from the wizards menu in taskbar. Before actully deleting it, you have to confirm the operation. The same is achieved by deleting individual lines.
When viewing and checking specifications, the user is only assigned read authorizations.
For product specification search use the standard search field in task bar.

Search criteria’s can be set up. Click on standard setting button in task bar and Hefaist search setting form will open.

Manage and adjust search criteria’s by your need.
