Open case

Veterinarians attach the complete documentation of the examined animal to the case. It may happen that it is necessary to add a document or write something additional to a completed case later. For this purpose, the case is opened and a document is added.

In this chapter, we will present an example of how to open a case that has been completed. The functionality is available through the button  (Open case) and is located in the case documents, which we access in the menu Veterinary | Case.

TIP

For more detailed information about the program forms, read in The PANTHEON VET Guide, in the chapter Main task bar.

CASE DESCRIPTION

The veterinarian examined the dog and sent a blood sample to the laboratory, completing the case of the animal at that moment. A few hours later, the laboratory returned the blood results, and the veterinarian wanted to attach the results to the case document and add his comment. He did this by following these steps:

  1. Searching for the case document
  2. Opening the case
  3. Completing the data

1. Searching for the case document

The responsible person searches for the case in which they want to arrange the data completion. The detailed procedure is described in the chapter Searching by the Animal History Form or in the chapter Open cases.

In our case, the responsible person opens the case by double-clicking: 23-CLI3-000006.

2. Opening the case

The responsible person wants to edit the case document 23-CLI3-000006.

  • For this purpose, the responsible person clicks the button Open case.

TIP

The button Complete case becomes active again, while the button Open case turns gray (becomes inactive).

3. Completing the data

The responsible person now completes the data in the Treatment tab, where they write the information in the comment and Completed service, where they write the medication issued.

  • In the Treatment tab in the field Veterinarian's note in our case writes: After introducing the antibiotic, a follow-up check is suggested in 3 days.
  • In the Completed service tab, the responsible person adds the medication issued: Summamed. The detailed procedure for adding IDs is described in the chapter Invoicing.

  • With this, the responsible person has completed the record update in the case. Therefore, they conclude the case by clicking the button Complete case.
TIP

The case is ready for invoicing to the owner. The invoice is issued by the responsible person at the reception. The detailed procedure for issuing an invoice is described in the chapter Create invoice/delivery note

warning

Once the invoice is created, the status of the case can no longer be changed - the button Open case is inactive.
