PANTHEON login window

In this chapter, we will walk you through the process of logging in to PANTHEON.

HINT

After a successful login, the program will start and the PANTHEON program window will open. For more information about the components of the PANTHEON program window and other forms, and how to edit them, see chapter PANTHEON windows and forms.

CASE SUMMARY

The user runs PANTHEON with the Pantheon.exe executable file. The login window opens, in which the user's user name and password, authentication method, and server and database (company) information must be entered for a successful login. The user logs in to the program by following the steps below:

  1. Opening PANTHEON
  2. Selecting the user
  3. Entering and changing the password
  4. Selecting the authentication method
  5. Selecting the company

1. Opening PANTHEON

When you run the executable file for opening PANTHEON, which was created with installing the program, a login window will appear on the desktop.

The user enters the necessary information into the login window and confirms the login by clicking the Logon button. By clicking the Quit button, the user cancels the running of PANTHEON and closes the login window.

HINT

You can also open the login window if you want to change the user and you already have PANTHEON open. This is done by selecting Settings | Change user in the main menu, or by using the Ctrl+U keyboard shortcut.

2. Selecting the user

To log in successfully, the user enters their user name into the User field of the login window. User names are set by the implementer. Users can also access the PANTHEON UserSite, with the same user name.

WARNING

When you open the login window, the User field is automatically populated with the user name that was used at the last login.

3. Entering and changing the password

To access the program, the user enters their password into the Password field.

Warning

When choosing a password, it is important to choose a secure password and change it regularly to ensure the security of your data.

3.1. Changing the password

Clicking the (key) icon next to the Password field in the login window opens the form for changing the password.

The person responsible enters their current password into the Old password field.

The person responsible enters the newly selected password into the New password field. The person responsible re-enters the password into the Confirm new password field.

By clicking the Confirm button, the password is changed.

Clicking the Cancel button does not change the password, but returns the user to the originally displayed login window.

HINT

Passwords can also be changed in the Administration panel, if the user has sufficient authorizations. It is also possible to set the minimum complexity of passwords and their expiration date.

4. Selecting the authentication method

In the Authentication field, the user selects the authentication method from the drop-down list. The field is automatically filled in with the option that was selected at the last login.

Warning

The authentication method depends on the settings of individual companies or users, whether they are using CLoud or local databases, etc.

If you encounter any issues with authentication, please contact PANTHEON Support via the email podpora@datalab.si or by telephone: +386 1 252 89 13.

5. Selecting the company

The Company field contains information about the user's company, the database and the currently installed version of PANTHEON.

If the user has multiple databases or registered companies, the user selects the desired one from the drop-down list in the Company field. The change will affect the data displayed in the Server and Base fields.

HINT

After a successful login, the program will start and the PANTHEON program window will open. For more information about the parts of the PANTHEON program window and other forms, and how to edit them, see PANTHEON windows and forms.
