Transferring international units of measurement codes 2 to Units of Measurement Register

When using eExchange, errors often occur if users do not have international units of measurements codes 2 entered in the Register.

HINT

For more information about units of measurement and Units of Measurement Register in PANTHEON, see the chapter Units of Measurement.

This chapter presents a use case of transferring international units of measurement codes, which are crucial for eDocument exchange.

CASE SUMMARY

The person responsible found out that errors occurred when exchanging an eDocument, because international units of measurement codes for item PCS were not entered. The person responsible is going to transfer international units of measurement codes from the web server into the Units of Measurement Register. This is done as follows:

  1. Opening the Units of Measurement Register
  2. Transferring from server
  3. Defining international units of measurement codes on item PCS

1. Opening the Units of Measurement Register

The person responsible opens the Items Register.

To do this, the person responsible selects Settings | Items | Items in the menu, or presses the function key F12.

Automatically, the record of the first item is opened on the General panel.

Below in the Dimensions and Units of Meas. section, the person responsible double-clicks the Primary U/M field.

The Units of Measurement Register opens.

The person responsible sees that where the unit of measurement should be entered (UM column), the International units of measurement codes 2 column is empty.

To be able to select an international code in the empty columns, the person responsible transfers the Units of Measurement register from the web server.

2. Transferring from server

In the Units of Measurement Register toolbar, the person responsible clicks the (Import/Export Data) button and selects the Transfer International Unit of Measurement Codes 2 option from the drop-down list.

A Register Transfer – International Units of Measurement Codes 2 window opens.

The person responsible can set custom Criteria and Import Type.

In this case, the person responsible selects the adding and changing option in the Import Type field: Add/Update.

The person responsible clicks the Transfer from Server button.

In the lower part of the window, all international units of measurement codes that the program will transfer are visible.

To continue, the person responsible clicks the Transfer into Register button.

3. Defining international units of measurement codes on item PCS

In the Units of Measurement Register, the person responsible must now select the correct code in the International Units of Measurement Codes 2 column on the PCS unit of measurement entry.

HINT

International Units of Measurement Codes 2 are usually the same as International Codes 1 (Int. Label column).

In this case however, there is an exception with the international code for unit of measurement PCS. The correct choice is: H87.

The person responsible selects the option from the drop-down menu and saves the choice by clicking the (Post edit) button in the toolbar.

The International Unit of Measurement Code 2 for unit of measurement PCS is now settled and eExchange will run smoothly.
