Compound Goods - Type C

Compound Goods - Type C

The Item type C – Compound Goods is used to monitor quantity and value of basic (parent) item stock. At the same time you can view status of stock for child items from specification.

Example:

You receive COMPOUNDITEMC from supplier. You will be receiving and issuing these items. The COMPOUNDITEMC consists of COMPONENT1 and COMPONENT2. Let us say that for informative purposes you would like to have an overview of stock quantity.

What next?

1. Determining Warehouse for Compound Goods

Set warehouse in Administration Panel | Goods | General to display a list of child items (overview of quantity). Set stock tracking for the warehouse. Then set 0 - No Valuation under type of valuation (for more information see warehouse for recordkeeping - type C).

2. Items

Enter ID of compound goods as well as IDs of components in the Items register.

1. Component ID

First enter IDs of child items:

  • COMPONENT01, for example, set item type 200
  • COMPONENT02, for example, set item type 200.

Use item type 200 – type B.

2. ID of Compound Goods

Enter ID of compound goods in the second stage:

  • COMPOUNDITEMC, item type 201, type C

Enter norms for converting parent ID to components in the Specification panel.

  • o COMPONENT01, 2 pcs

    o COMPONENT02, 1 pcs

    3. Recording Goods Received

On receiving enter quantity of the parent item received. Let us say that you are receiving 10 pieces of COMPOUNDITEMC. Hence the stock is charged with quantity and value of compound goods.

Because you selected item type C, you can also view the currently available stock of items COMPONENT 01 and COMPONENT 02. They make up item COMPOUNDITEMC. This stock SHOWS ONLY QUANTITY and in this way does not affect the stock value.

    4. Issuing Goods and Tracking Stock

In accordance with the abovementioned, price movements and stock are tracked ONLY FOR ITEMS FOR SALE (in our case: COMPOUNDITEMC). That is why you enter COMPUNDITEMC in both sales orders and document of issue.

Warehouse card containing child items COMPONENT 01 and COMPONENT 02 shows stock quantity status.

    5. Warehouse Card

Only movements that were actually received and issued to or from stock are shown on the warehouse card (unlike the current stock overview). Thus you can display and subsequently print the warehoouse card for COMPOUNDITEMC. You will not find no record of movements of components.
