Importing from a web server

 

PANTHEON allows users to download registers that are generally used for business operations or are linked to legislation into the program, which speeds up the preparation of the database. The registers are available on Datalab's web server (Web Services).

Below is an example of importing a register and a list of the most common registers available for import.

CASE SUMMARY

Tecta Personnel Department had to update the formulas for calculating leave due to a legislative change. For this purpose, Heather Human as Head of HR downloaded the changes from the web server as described below.

  • The person responsible opens the Leave Formulas register by opening the menu Settings | Personnel | Leave | Leave Formulas.

  • Clicking the button Import/export data displays the available options.

  • The option Transfer registers is selected.

  • A new window opens for selecting download criteria.

  • From the drop-down list of the field Collective agreement, the person responsible selects the ID 150 and specifies the Import type: Adding.

  • Then, the button Transfer from server is clicked (as shown in the image above under number 3).

  • A table is displayed where the person responsible selects which registers are to be imported into the database (as shown in the image above under number 4). Those marked with an orange tick will be transferred to the database.

  • Clicking the button Transfer into register downloads, i.e. saves the selected registers to the database.

  • After the successful transfer, a message is displayed as shown in the image below.

  • The button OK is clicked.
