Send SMS notification on vaccination expiration

This eWorkflow enables the sending of SMS notifications to animal owners when animals need to be vaccinated or re-vaccinated.

Depending on the vaccination data entered in the PANTHEON VET license and the set intervals for the vaccination type, this eWorkflow searches for the animal owners a few days before the vaccination is due and sends them an SMS notification about the vaccination and the re-ordering of the vaccination.

The SMS is sent to those animal owners whose phone number is entered in the Owners and animals register and who have given their consent to SMS notifications.

The eWorkflow is made up of a set of automated elements, which run the following crucial steps in the background:

  1. Retrieving vaccination data: according to the setting of the next vaccination in the Send SMS block in Administration Panel, the program checks for which animals the vaccination will expire in a certain number of days (e.g. 4 days). In this step, the key block is the Script.
  2. Retrieving data for SMS: The program selects the corresponding data of the animal owner (phone number and consent to SMS notification). In this step, the key block is the Script block.
  3. Sending SMS messages: The program sends an SMS notification to the owner. The key block in this step is the Send SMS block.

For the eWorkflow to work properly, the following settings must be defined beforehand:

  1. Setting up the eWorkflows for SMS and email notification
  2. Defining the SMS settings in Administration Panel – Vaccination

1. Setting up the eWorkflows for SMS and email notification

All the required settings for the successful operation of the eWorkflows for SMS and email notification are described in the chapter SMS and email notification settings.

2. Defining the SMS settings in Administration Panel – Vaccination

The default settings for the given eWorkflow Send SMS notification (VET) need to be defined in Settings | Program | Administration Panel.

In the Administration Panel, select the panel Settings | Veterinarian and then the SMS settings tab.

In the SMS default text field of the section Vaccination, select Vaccination from the drop-down list of SMS templates.

HINT

Double-clicking in the field opens the form for creating and editing templates for sending emails and SMS messages.

In the field Send SMS notification before vaccination (in days), enter how many days before the vaccination the SMS notification together with the details of the scheduled vaccination will be sent to the customer.

In this case, the number of days is set to: 4.

HINT

For a use case, see the chapter SMS notification on vaccination expiration (use case).
