Input of the equine

Equines (horses, donkeys) are classified as livestock for breeding and use. Most often, the veterinarian visits the animal owner in the field or at the location of the animals. During the first examination, the veterinarian first enters the animal into the program, where a unique code for the animal is created.

In this chapter, we will present an example of creating a new code for a horse. The functionality is located in the menu  Veterinary | Code Lists | Code List of Owners and Animals, tab Equines.

TIP

For more detailed information about the program forms, please read in the Guide to PANTHEON VET, in the chapter Equines.

CASE DESCRIPTION

The veterinarian in the field performs regular vaccinations of equines. At the location of the farm of owner Leon Haflinger, he will first describe the horses for which he will also perform vaccinations. The process of creating a new animal code will be carried out with the following steps:

  1. Searching for the owner's code
  2. Entering data in the Basic Data tab
  3. Entering data in the Equines tab
  4. Printing animal data

1. Searching for the owner's code

The responsible person in the field first checks or searches for the owner's code, where they can then create a new code for the animal. The detailed process of searching for the owner is described in the chapter Searching for an owner or animal in the code list.

WARNING

If the owner is not yet entered in the PANTHEON VET program, the responsible person first enters the owner, then the animal. For more detailed instructions, please read in the chapter Adding a new owner.

2. Entering data in the Basic Data tab

The responsible person in the field enters the animal into the PANTHEON VET program. The detailed process of entering basic data about the animal in the tab Basic Data is described in the chapter Entering Animals (general).

The image below shows the final entry of data about the horse made by the responsible person in the field.

3. Entering data in the Equines tab

After entering the basic data of the animal, the appropriate tab is created based on the selected type of animal. In our case, the tab Equines.

TIP

Entering data in the tab Equines is for informational purposes only, and the data is not mandatory.

  • In our case, the responsible person enters in the field Registration number : SI70532156.
  • Continues with the entry in the field Color, where they select from the dropdown list: Dark brown roan.
  • The responsible person enters data about the horse's parents. In the field Mother's Chip they enter: SI7051236588521 and in the field Father's Chip: SI7055558426514.
  • They also complete the fields with the names of the animals. In our case, in the field Mother's Name they enter: Eariela and in the field Father's Name: San Caliente.
  • In the field For feeding, they select from the dropdown list: 0-Not for feeding.

WARNING

The status of the horses (field For feeding), according to the regulations, is determined at the IRZVK and is written in the Identification Document of the equine.

  • The responsible person concludes the data entry and clicks the button Save.

4. Printing animal data

If the responsible person wants to check the data about the horse or print it for the owner, they do so in a manner that is detailed in the chapter Adding a Dog.

The image below shows the printout of data about the horses made by the responsible person in the field.
