Cat Entry

When the owner first brings their animal to the veterinary clinic, the receptionist or veterinarian registers it in the program, where a unique code for the animal is created.
In this chapter, we will present an example of creating a new code for a cat. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinary | Ciphers | Owner and Animal Ciphers
 |
TIP
For more detailed information about the program forms, read in the PANTHEON VET Guide, in the chapter Cats.

CASE DESCRIPTION
The owner, Peter Novak, is bringing his new cat named Lola to the veterinary clinic for the first time. He adopted the cat from the Shelter. The veterinarian or receptionist will first register the animal in the cipher list during its first visit to the veterinary clinic. The process of creating a new animal code will be carried out with the following steps:
- Searching for the owner's code
- Entering data in the Basic Information tab
- Entering data in the Cats tab
- Printing the animal's data
|
1. Searching for the owner's code
The responsible person at the veterinary clinic first checks or searches for the owner's code, where they can then create a new code for the animal. The detailed process of searching for the owner is described in the chapter Searching for an owner or animal in the cipher list.
 |
WARNING
If the owner is not yet registered in the PANTHEON VET program, the responsible person first registers the owner, then the animal. For more detailed instructions, read in the chapter Adding a new owner.
|
2. Entering data in the Basic Information tab
The responsible person at the veterinary clinic registers the animal in the PANTHEON VET program. The detailed process of entering basic information about the animal in the Basic Information tab is described in the chapter Animal Entry (general).
The image below shows the final entry of data about the cat Lola, which was made by the responsible person at the veterinary clinic.

3. Entering data in the Cats tab
After entering the basic information about the animal, the appropriate tab is created based on the selected type of animal. In our case, the Catstab was created. The responsible person will then enter more detailed information about the cat.
-
The responsible person weighs the animal and enters the weight data in the field Body Weight. In our case, they enter: 4.
-
They copy the data from the passport. In the field Passport No. they enter: SI562245.
-
In the field Date of Issue (o) they copy: 17.08.2022.
-
The responsible person continues entering data in the field Origin (o), where they select: Shelter from the dropdown list.
-
Next, they define the external appearance of the cat. In the field Color (o) they select: Gray from the dropdown list.
-
In the field Fur Length (o) they specify: S-Medium.
-
They copy the data for the chip number (o): 705222154875266325.
-
And also complete the field Date of Chip (o): 17. 08. 2022.
-
When they finish entering the data, they click the button Save, which is located in the function bar.
The cat Lola is now registered in the cipher list Owner and Animal, where we can see her on the list of animals owned by Peter Novak.

 |
TIP
Animals that have the field Origin (o) set to Shelter are automatically highlighted in red.

4. Printing the animal's data
If the responsible person wants to check the data about the cat or print it for the owner, they do so in a manner that is detailed in the chapter Adding a Dog.
The image below shows the printout of the animal data, which was made by the responsible person at the veterinary clinic.
