Creating a task

At Tecta, employees carry out predefined tasks that are created through workflows. In addition, they manually create tasks to ensure that the business runs smoothly, even if any employee is absent.

CASE SUMMARY

Sally Sales, Head of Wholesale at Tecta, has an arrangement to inform the supplier on Fridays how many test items Tecta needs so that they can test them before the supplier starts delivering. For this purpose, she creates a new task.

The person responsible can click the toolbar button Add task on any form in PANTHEON. A new window Task opens.

  • In the field Title, the person responsible enters the title of the task.

  • In the field Start time, the start time of the task is specified.

  • From the drop-down list of the field Assigned to, the person responsible selects the person who will be responsible for the task. In this case, the person responsible selects themselves.

  • In the field Task text, the person responsible can enter any text. In this case, the person responsible makes a note of the supplier's contact person.

  • The section Links shows the document that was open at the time when the person responsible clicked the button to add the task.

  • By checking the checkbox Recurrence, the person responsible selects the option to repeat the task created. It also specifies the repeat period.

  • Finally, the person responsible clicks the button Save.

  • The program displays a message: Data was successfully updated.

HINT

The task appears in the window Task. For more information on managing tasks, see the chapter Overview of tasks in To-do.
