Weighing

Weighing and monitoring changes in body weight of animals allows veterinarians to obtain additional information about determining the health situation of the animals.

In this chapter, we will present an example of weighing reviews in animals. The data is graphically and tabularly presented on the Weighing tab, which is located in the menu Veterinary | Treatment, on the document tab Treatment.

TIP

For more detailed information about the program forms, read in the PANTHEON VET Guide, in the chapter Weighing Tab.

WARNING

Weighing data is graphically and tabularly displayed only when the measurement is entered in the Treatment, in the field Weight. On the Weighing tab, we see all weighing measurements that have ever been performed on the animal, but we cannot enter them.

CASE DESCRIPTION

The veterinarian treated the dog Archie. The owner brought him in because he was scratching a lot. He was also visibly overweight. The veterinarian examined the dog, weighed him, and checked the changes in the animal's body weight, based on which it was easier to provide a diagnosis. He did this by following these steps:

  1. Recording weighing data for treatment
  2. Review of changes in body weight

1. Recording weighing data for treatment

The responsible person weighed the animal during the examination process and entered the data in the treatment document.

The detailed procedure is described in the chapter Treatment

In our case, the responsible person made a record of the body weight in the treatment: 23-CLI3-000013.

2. Review of changes in body weight

The responsible person wanted to see the trend of changes in body weight in the animal, as the animal was also visibly heavier.

  • She checked the data on the Weighing, where all measurements are graphically and tabularly displayed.
