ePosting

ePosting is a service that enables:

  • capturing and recognizing data from a PDF document;
  • converting the identified data into an e-document format;
  • importing the e-document (in JSON format) into received documents (invoices) in PANTHEON.

HINT
  • For ePosting to work properly, the service must first be activated and the relevant settings need to be defined beforehand.
  • ePosting is controlled by eWorkflows in the background (in addition to the built-in AI). These are predefined and can be transferred using the Web Service.

The process of ePosting is best described with a diagram:

  1. Scanning documents – Paper documents/invoices are scanned and converted into PDF. If needed, the PDF document is split into several parts (this feature is used when more scanned invoices are joined in one PDF file).
  2. Sending PDF to OCR reading and converting it to eInvoice format – The key part of the ePosting process is sending a PDF file to OCR reading (system for invoice data recognition) for parsing and receiving eInvoice in a format that can be imported to PANTHEON.
  3. Importing eInvoice(s) to PANTHEON
  4. Sending feedback to the OCR reader (ePosting machine learning) – information about imported data is sent to the OCR reading system, so that future reading quality is improved.

User instructions were prepared to help you understand ePosting. They are divided into the following chapters:

Activating the ePosting Service

Before using the ePosting service you first need to activate it. This chapter describes the activation process.

Defining the settings for ePosting

For ePosting to work properly, the following settings need to be defined:

  1. Mailbox for ePosting
  2. Transferring eWorkflow via PANTHEON Web Service
  3. Transferring the predefined eExchange settings for ePosting
  4. Setting up the method of PDF parsing

First use of ePosting

To better understand how ePosting works, the following use cases have been prepared:

  1. Splitting PDF documents
  2. Sending PDF documents to OCR reading and creating an eInvoice

2.1 PDF Document Parsing Detailed by Line Item

2.2 PDF Document Parsing Summarized by Tax Rate

  1. Importing the received e-invoice into PANTHEON using ePosting (OCR)
