Expanding Flowchart with Multiple Warehouses

Extending the flowchart with multiple warehouses

Normally, companies have several warehouses or units where they keep records. In such cases, planners need to extend the flowchart of material and goods by adding other warehouses to it and equipping them with the corresponding material document types.

This chapter presents an example of a company flowchart with two warehouses: a wholesale warehouse and a retail warehouse.

Explanation of the expanding flowchart:

  • The company has two warehouses: one for Wholesale (Warehouse 1 and one for Retail (Warehouse 2).
  • We have marked Receiving to Warehouse 1 (burdening of wholesale warehouse) as the document type 1000, which in this expanding flowchart means 'purchase of goods and materials'.
  • The Issue from warehouse 1 has been marked as document type 3000, which represents 'Wholesale' or the relieving of the wholesale warehouse.
  • Receiving to warehouse 2 (burdening of retail warehouse) has been marked as document type 1100, which in this expanding flowchart stands for 'purchase of goods and materials'.
  • Issue from warehouse 2 has been marked as document type 3000, which represents 'Retail or the relieving of the retail warehouse.

The expanding flowchart above shows how and with what type of document the purchase of goods and materials is carried out. The process goes from the suppliers to the retail or wholesale warehouse of the company, and from there to the customers.

HINT

First, we suggest you create a Movement of material and goods expanding flowchart and then work on defining the document types in PANTHEON.
