Search window

The Search window is located in the toolbar of the PANTHEON program window. It is used to search for records in databases:

Table of contents

  1. Search mode
  2. Use of the % character

1. Search mode

In the Search by field, the window is set to All by default, and it searches through all records. In the same field, you can select a different field from the drop-down list to limit the scope of the search.

We enter the search string characters into the empty Search by field on the right. Clicking the (Search) icon or the Enter key on the keyboard starts the search according to the selected criteria and search string.

When there are multiple records that match the search string in the database, the program opens the Global search form, where you can choose from the records found.

Warning

If there is only one search result, the program automatically opens the result in a register or a document.

2. Use of the % character

The search also takes into account the wildcard character %.

When searching by items, subjects and contact persons, % is added to the end of the search string entered into the search engine by default.

When searching by document, % is not written at the end of the search string.

The wildcard character % can also be entered manually, and can be put before a string. Use cases:

LARA% Returns all results starting with the string LARA. For example, LARA3, LARA3_DOOR, LARA6,, etc.
%LON Returns all results ending with the string LON. For example, WATERMELON, etc.
%RA% Returns all results containing the RA string. For example, LARA3, municipality Kranj, etc.

HINT

Other SQL wildcard characters work in the same way in PANTHEON. You can read more about how SQL wildcard characters work at w3schools.com.
