Adding Lines Tracked by Serial Numbers

If an item is tracked by serial numbers, you must select or enter a serial number in the original receiving/issue document before it can be added.

Adding to a Receiving Document

Say, for example, you would like to add 2 pieces of an item that is tracked by serial numbers. The Quantity field of the line of this item will read 0 until you enter a serial number.

By clicking on the Serial No. button in the original receiving document, you will open the Enter Serial Numbers window. Here, you can see the quantity of the goods tracked by serial numbers (for details see Serial Numbers - Receiving ).

Enter serial numbers (and, when necessary, quantities) in this window. This will complete the entry of this line.

Adding to Issue Documents

000001.gif

If the Autoassign s/n option has been checked in the Document Types settings, adding a movement automatically assigns serial numbers for items which you have chosen to track by serial numbers.

For example, you have added two pieces of an item tracked by serial numbers to an issuing document.

  • If you've selected the Autoassign s/n function in the Document Types | Issue settings, the program will automatically assign serial numbers in ascending order (from  smallest to largest) once a quantity has been entered. Further editing of the line (adding issued serial numbers) is not necessary in this case.
  • If the Autoassign s/n function has not been chosen, serial numbers are transfered from the original document (provided they're listed there) and will be assigned only if a serial number is available (batch serial numbers). Otherwise they need to be entered manually.

Automatically Assigned Serial Numbers

If you've selected the Autoassign s/n function in the Document Types | Issue settings, the program will automatically assign serial numbers in ascending order (from  smallest to largest) once a quantity has been entered. Further editing of the line (adding assigned serial numbers) is not necessary in this case.

Manually Assigning Serial Numbers

The Quantity field of the listing of this item will read 0 until you enter a serial number.

By clicking on the Serial No. button, you will open the SN Output window. Here, you can see the quantity of the goods tracked by serial numbers (for details see Serial Numbers - Issue).

Enter serial numbers (and, when necessary, quantities) in this window. This will complete the entry of this line.
