Analysis

010411.gif 010382.gif 010383.gif

The Analysis tab is intended for comparing the plan with the corresponding results on the document form for Planning. It contains a header and four tabs:

  1. Header – Analysis settings
  2. Comparison
  3. Filter
  4. Multi-Analysis
  5. Ad-Hoc

Here is a description of the tab elements.

1. Analysis (Header)

Plan

Select a plan type to analyse: e.g. Sales plan, Purchase plan, Financial plan or Payroll plan.

Compare

Select by which measure the plan will be analysed: by value or by quantity.

By

Select by which parameter the plan will be analysed (see more in the Comparison section).

Planned

Select (tick) the checkbox if planned values should be visible in the comparison grid.

Results

Select (tick) the checkbox if realization values should be visible in the comparison grid.

Last Year

Select (tick) the checkbox if last year realization values should be visible in the comparison grid.

Index

Select (tick) the checkbox(es) for which index should be visible on the comparison grid (values are added on the fly, so there is no need for recalculation when an index checkbox is selected):

  • Index R/P – Index between realization and plan = (results/planned)*100 .
  • Index P/LY – Index between plan and last year realization = (planned/last_year)*100.
  • Index R/LY – Index between realization and last year realization = (results/last_year)*100.
  • Index P/R – Index between plan and realization = (planned/results)*100.

Difference

Checkbox for which difference calculation is visible on the comparison grid (values are added on the fly, there is no need for recalculation when difference checkbox is selected):

  • Difference R-P – Difference between realization and plan = (results - planned).
  • Difference P-LY – Difference between plan and last year realization = (planned - last year).
  • Difference R-LY – Difference between realization and last year realization = (results - last year).
  • Difference P-R – Difference between plan and realization = (planned - results).

Periods

The Periods checkbox is only active for the Financial plan and the Monthly plan types. If selected, it will show analysis by months; if not selected, it will show only the total values.

Total

A selected (ticked) Total checkbox means that the grid will also show total results at the end of the grid of calculation by periods (only for the Sales and Financial plan).

Quarterly Totals

Select (tick) the checkbox if you want to see plan analysis also by quarters (the option is only aplicable for the Monthly financial plan).

Show realisation only for planned parameters

This option will filter realisation and only show values that have the same parameters (account, subject, cost center and department) in the Finance detailed grid.

Reverse Rows

This option will reverse rows in the Analysis grid. Change is applicable on the fly, so there is no need for recalculation.

Reverse Columns

This option will reverse columns in the analysis grid. Change is applicable on the fly, there is no need for a recalculation.

Freeze Columns

This option will freeze parameter columns in the Analysis grid. When you move the scroller left and right through the analysis, the parameter columns will always be visible.

Filter

This option activates the Filter tab where the plan can be filtered. Find a description and more information in the Filter section below.

Multi-Analysis

This option activates the Multi-Analysis tab where the plan can be broken down to details. Find a description and more information in the Multi-Analysis section below.

Cumulative

This optino enables the calculation of cumulative values. When the checkbox is selected (tickeD), monthly values will not be displayed for the individual month, but for all the selected months + all the previous months, e. g. January = January; February = January + February; March = January + February + March.

Recalculate

The Recalculate button will prepare the analysis according to the above settings. The analysis is prepared on the fly, so it may take some time in case you have a large plan and database.

HINT

Whether the button is enabled or disabled depends on authorizations in the Plan Analysis.

2. Comparison parameters

The drop-down list enables you to select the parameters according to which you want to perform the comparison. Below, you can find a list of parameters, by which you can compare the results for individual plan types.

* Only the Sales plan type enables multiselecting parameters.

3. Filter

By checking the Filter checkbox, the Filter panel opens and you can restrict the date of analysis and up to 3 parameters. This means that the all unselected values will not be displayed.

3.1. Filter

On the left side, there is an option to restrict the analysis date From and To.

3.2. Parameters

On the right side there is an option to restrict parameters. First, in the upper part of the box, select which parameter you want to restrict. Check the desired dimension members (parameters) in the bottom window.

You can make use of the right-click menu and the Select All and Deselect All options that can be found there.

hint

To perform a comparison, you need to click on the Compare button in the Comparison panel.

4. Multi-Analysis

Multi-Analysis is an option where plan analysis is divided into results of a selected parameter.

Parameter 1

In this field select a parameter that you would like in analyse in details. In the lower panel you then select which of the values of parameters you would like to analyse.

Total

At the end you have an option to add also a total value with Total checkbox.

Results of such a selection are then shown after you click on the Recalculate button.

5. Ad-Hoc

The Ad-Hoc tab is accessible in the lower grid of the Analysis tab. The feature has the same functionality as in the Ad-Hoc form. The additional functionality in this section is the Ad-Hoc Template in the upper right corner. This section enables you to save the structure of an Ad-Hoc panel (the measurements and dimensions) as well as to edit the SQL query that shows results.

Save as

The ID of the template under which data is stored in the table. The combobox menu shows a list of IDs with the date and time when the data was created. The Template ID can be changed by writing a new name in the combobox.

(Delete)

Deletes the currently selected template.

Load

This will show the data stored in the table under the selected Template ID. It will not prepare the analysis by recalculating the latest data but it will read data from the table.

Recalculate

This button will prepare the analysis according to the above settings. The analysis is prepared on the fly so it may take some time in case you have a large plan and database.

Ad Hoc Template

Select the Ad Hoc template. Each template is associated with an individual plan and is not visible in other plans.

(Delete)

Deletes the stored Ad-Hoc template.

(Home)

Return the Ad-Hoc template structure to the default analysis layout.

Edit SQL

Clicking this button opens a new window with the SQL query, where you can remove or add some data to SQL, which is then visible in the Ad-Hoc panel.

Save

Saves the analysis.
