API Subscription

API Subscription allows the users to connect to other programs and services that connect to the PANTHEON database. The requirement for activation and use of API is the corresponding number of connector licenses for the specified serial number.
This chapter introduces the licensing options for the API Subscription service.
- Requirements for using API
- API Subscription licensing
- Ordering and activating API Subscription
- Examples of licensing the API Subscription service
|
1. Requirements for using API
The requirements for activating and using API are:
- the company is a PANTHEON or PANTHEON Web user, and
- the company has a corresponding number of connector licenses for the given serial number.
2. API Subscription licensing
API Subscription will be licensed (linked) to:
- the assigned serial number (as connector license)
- the tax number of the database to which the API is implemented/linked.

3. Ordering and activating API Subscription
API Subscription can only be activated by Datalab partners or employees.
3.1 Activation by email with API Subscription details
Once your company's representative confirms the special terms and activates the service, the API Subscription is activated and the representative receives an activation email.
The user can install an API according to the instructions in the chapter PANTHEON Web Services (PAWS).
 |
IMPORTANT
- For API Subscriptions, please contact your supporter or Datalab at; 01 252 89 50 or prodaja@datalab.si.
|
3.2 Order by email with API Subscription details
A representative (usually the administrator) of your company will receive an email order with details of the API Subscription.
To activate the API subscription, the representative must confirm the special conditions and activate the service.
Once the representative confirms the special conditions and activates the service, the API subscription is activated, and the representative receives an activation email.
 |
IMPORTANT
- If the representative (usually the administrator) forwards the email to another person, the other person will not be able to activate the service.
- The API Subscription MUST be activated by the representative who received the email.

4. Examples of licensing the API Subscription service
Here are some examples of how the API Subscription service can be licensed.
4.1 Company has one serial number and one database
The example company has one serial number and one database.
In this case, the user must have one connector license and one (1) API Subscription.

4.2 Company has one serial number and two (2) databases with the same tax number
The example company has only one serial number and two (2) databases with the same tax number. One of them is a production database and the other is a test database.
The user must have one connector license and one (1) API Subscription.

4.3 Company has two (2) serial numbers and two (2) databases with the same tax number
The example company has two (2) serial numbers and two (2) databases with the same tax number.
One of them is a production database and the other is a test database.
The user must have a connector license for each serial number and two (2) API Subscriptions, that is one for each serial number.

 |
IMPORTANT
If a user has 10 or more PANTHEON SE licenses or the equivalent, the user can request to use PANTHEON licenses on multiple instances (servers).
In this case, the user can set up both databases on the same serial number. As a result, the user will have one serial number and one API Subscription.
|

4.4 Company has two (2) serial numbers and multiple databases with the different tax numbers
The example company has two (2) serial numbers and multiple databases with the different tax numbers.
The user must have a connector license for each serial number and as many API Subscriptions to match the number of users who would like to connect to the databases.
The example below shows a user who wants to use the API Subscription for their 5 databases. In this case, the user needs to have 5 connector licenses and 5 API Subscriptions, as shown in the image below.

 |
IMPORTANT
The number of connector licenses in each scheme only applies to the API Subscription. If the user has any other external software that is directly connected to the PANTHEON database, the user will need additional connector licenses for these external software connections.
