Changing the Order of Lines in Specifications

Changing Line Order in Specifications

You can change how child items are ordered in specification by simply entering a number in the Line field.

Since consecutive line number cannot be duplicated, all previous lines must be renumbered when trying to insert an item. To do this, simply follow the steps listed below

Step 1

Before   After    
Line ID Line ID  
1 A 1 A  
2 B 2 B  
3 C 4 C <-change this line number first

Step 2

Before   After    
Line ID Line ID  
1 A 1 A  
2 B 3 B <-then change all line number to the point where you wiant to insert a line
4 C 4 C  

Step 3

Before   After    
Line ID Line ID  
1 A 1 A  
    2 D <-insert a line with the corresponding line number
3 B 3 B  
4 C 4 C
