Creating a new classification

Among the registers linked to the Items register in PANTHEON Web Light, there is also a Classifications register, where new classifications can be created. Among other things, these allow you to group items into product groups. There are three types of classifications:

  • P - Primary
  • S - Secondary
  • O - Both (primary and secondary)
HINT

For more information on creating new classifications, see the chapter New classification.

This chapter describes how to create new classifications for all three types.

CASE SUMMARY

The person responsible wants to create new classifications. First, the person responsible wants to create a new classification for tent accessories, which will be of type O - Both. Next, the person responsible wants to create classifications for goods to be sold at the Tecta bar. For this purpose, a primary classification TECTA_BAR and then a more specific secondary classification BEER are created. This is done as follows:

  1. Opening the form for creating a new classification
  2. Creating a classification of type O - Both
  3. Creating a primary classification
  4. Creating a secondary classification

1. Opening the form for creating a new classification

To open the Items register, the person responsible clicks Registers | Items from the main menu.

This opens the list of items, where the person responsible clicks the field Registers in the list header and selects Classifications from the list.

This opens the list of classifications.

Clicking the button New in the command line opens a blank form for creating a new classification.

2. Creating a classification of type O - Both

Into the blank form, the person responsible starts entering the data for the new classification for tent accessories, which will be of type O - Both.

WARNING

The classification of type O - Both can be used as primary and secondary classification.

The person responsible enables the toggle button to Active so that it is colored orange. An inactive classification cannot be used.

In the field Classification, the person responsible enters the classification code: ACCESSORIES.

In the field Name, the person responsible enters the name of the classification: TENT ACCESSORIES.

Then, the person responsible clicks in the field Type and selects Primary and secondary classif. from the list.

To save the data entered, the person responsible clicks the button Save.

After saving, PANTHEON Web Light displays the classification in the list of classifications.

3. Creating a primary classification

In the same way as before, the person responsible clicks the button New in the command line to open another empty form to create a new classification.

The person responsible wants to create a classification for the items to be used at the Tecta bar. The classification will be of type P - Primary classification.

The person responsible enables the toggle button to Active so that it is colored orange.

In the field Classification, the person responsible enters the classification code: TECTA BAR.

In the field Name, the name of the classification is entered: TECTA BAR.

Then, the person responsible clicks in the field Type and selects Primary classification from the list.

To save the data entered, the person responsible clicks the button Save.

After saving, PANTHEON Web Light displays the classification in the list of classifications.

4. Creating a secondary classification

In the same way as before, the person responsible clicks the button New in the command line to open another empty form to create a new classification.

The person responsible wants to create a classification for the various beers that will be sold at the Tecta bar. The classification will only be used as a secondary classification, because the beers will be primarily identified by the classification TECTA_BAR. Therefore, this classification will be of type S - Secondary classification.

The person responsible enables the toggle button to Active so that it is colored orange.

In the field Classification, the person responsible enters the classification code: BEERS.

In the field Name, the name of the classification is entered: BEERS.

Then, the person responsible clicks in the field Type and selects Secondary classification from the list.

To save the data entered, the person responsible clicks the button Save.

After saving, PANTHEON Web Light displays the classification in the list of classifications.

HINT

To cancel the process of creating a new classification, click the button X (Cancel) in the form command line.
