Creating a new unit of measurement

Among the registers linked to the Items register in PANTHEON Web Light, there is also a Main units of measurements register, where you can add the units of measurement used in your company to the already predefined units of measurement.

HINT

For more information on how to create new units of measurement, see the chapter New unit of measurement.

This chapter describes how to create a new unit of measurement LBS – Pound, which is an imperial unit of mass.

CASE SUMMARY

The person responsible wants to create a new unit of measurement – pound – for the UK market. To do this, the person responsible opens the list of units of measurement and the form for entering the new unit of measurement. Next, the person responsible enters the code LBS and the name of the pound unit in the blank form and searches for the corresponding international code from the list. This is done as follows:

  1. Opening the list of units of measurement
  2. Opening the form for creating a new unit of measurement
  3. Entering the data on the new unit of measurement

1. Opening the list of units of measurement

To open the Items register, the person responsible clicks Registers | Items from the main menu.

This opens the list of items, where the person responsible clicks the field Registers in the list header and selects Main units of measurement from the list.

This opens the list of units of measurement.

2. Opening the form for creating a new unit of measurement

To start creating a new unit of measurement, the person responsible clicks the button New in the command line.

This opens a blank form for entering the data on the U/M (unit of measurement).

3. Entering the data on the new unit of measurement

Into the blank form, the person responsible starts entering the data for the new unit of measurement, which will be an imperial unit of mass with the code LBS.

In the field Code, the person responsible enters LBS.

Clicking the field Inter. code opens the list of international codes for units of measurement. By pressing the key L on the keyboard, the person responsible can quickly find the corresponding international code LBR - Pound and selects it.

WARNING

The international code for the unit of measurement is required information when sending an eInvoice.

In the field Name, the person responsible enters the English name for the new unit of measurement: Pound.

To save the data entered, the person responsible clicks the button Save.

After saving, PANTHEON Web Light displays the unit of measurement in the list of units of measurement. The new unit of measurement can be used immediately.

HINT

To cancel the process of creating a new unit of measurement, click the button X (Cancel) in the form command line.
