Setting up email for eWorkflows

For certain workflows to work properly, the settings for sending and receiving emails in PANTHEON need to be defined correctly. These are important for successful communication with the email server.

The panel can be accessed from the menu Settings | Program | Administration Panel by clicking the panel Settings | Internet and the tab Servers.

This chapter describes the settings for the Gmail email server. For settings for other email servers, please contact your email provider.

1. Defining general email settings

In the E-mail sender (u) field, enter your mailbox address, in this case: dldokument@gmail.com.

HINT
  1. To create a Google Account, follow the instructions at this link.
  2. For detailed instructions on how to set up and create a password to access Google apps, follow the instructions for signing in with app passwords.

In the Name field, enter the sender's details: Adele Administrator.

WARNING

The settings apply according to the labels next to checkboxes: (u) – at user level, (m) – at workstation level, (c) – at company level.

2. Setting up POP3 incoming server

  • In the Name (m) field, enter: pop.gmail.com
  • In the POP3 port (u) field, enter: 995, which is specified by default.
  • In the Timeout (sec) (u) field, enter: 300.
  • In the User name (u) field, enter the address of the mailbox you have created, in this case: dldokument@gmail.com
  • In the Password (u) field, enter the password you have generated when creating the corresponding Google Account.
  • To check whether the POP3 server settings are properly configured, click the Test POP3 button.

  • If the settings are properly configured, the program displays an information window Connection successful.

  • Click the OK button to close the window.

3. Setting up SMTP incoming server

  • In the Name (m) field, enter: smtp.gmail.com
  • In the SMTP port (u) field, enter: 587, which is specified by default.
  • In the User name (u) field, enter the address of the mailbox you have created, in this case: dldokument@gmail.com
  • In the Password (u) field, enter the password you have generated when creating the corresponding Google Account.
  • From the drop-down list of the Use TLS/SSL (u) field, select SSL/TLS.
  • To check whether the SMTP server settings are properly configured, click the Test SMTP button.

  • If the settings are properly configured, the program displays an information window Connection successful.

  • Click the OK button to close the window.

4. Setting up IMAP (outgoing) server

  • In the Name (m) field, enter: imap.gmail.com
  • To check whether the IMAP server settings are properly configured, click the Test IMAP button.

If the settings are properly configured, the program displays an information window Connection successful.

  • Click the OK button to close the window.
