Phantom - Virtual Assembly

The so-called phantoms represent virtual assemblies (specifications) which are mainly used to make editing and updating complex specification structures simpler. Normally, such phantom specifications represent material assemblies excluding technological procedures used in production (operations). Typically, a phanotm assembly can be for example an assembly of component parts which are integrated in various products. They are not actual physical components.

A typical phantom functionality is that corresponding components and not phantoms are issued when releasing work orders.

Similary, also when recalculating material requirements. That is, components and not phantoms are displayed as material requirements.

Items used as phantom assemblies (specifications) are defined as items of type C - Compound Goods or U - Compound Service.

66975.gif To switch on phantom functionality you have to check Compound Goods and Services as Phantoms in the Additional Parameters panel in PANTHEON program parameters.
