The program warns you and returns a message, if depreciation report has not been confirmed yet (see Depreciation report has not been confirmed yet. It is possible to post only confirmed reports!)

Posting to the general ledger is performed automatically to predefined accounts by specific fixed assets.

For posting it also holds good, of course that it shall be performed for up to three different types of depreciation reports:

The posting procedure can be performed only after depreciation and revaluation calculation is completed. You can create a new journal entry for posting or append it to the existing one.

Calculate Internal ID of the report that is to be posted. The ID of the report from which the function was launched is offered by default.
Posting Method

You select the way data about calculated depreciation is displayed and posted:

  • Summarily - summary posting by account and possible cost driver. In this type of posting the following is entered XXX in the note to the journal entry item
  • Detailed - detailed posting by a specific fixed asset. In this type of posting inventory number of the fixed asset and report type is entered in the note to the journal entry item.

Posting Type

Create

Document type We can select the type of document where you want to create a journal entry for posting of fixed asset depreciation
Target date As the date of target date (posting period) it is by default offered the approval date of depreciation report. You can change this data prior to posting.
Posting date As the posting date the current date is offered by default
Append  You may select the existing journal entry to which you can append the post. If you do not choose journal entry in this panel, a new one  shall be created.
Report You can print the posting data prior to the actual posting. You can find information about debit and credit accounts and respective values that the program shall use according to the entered accounts in the report. The report shall be created according to the selected type of psoting:
Posting By clicking this button you may launch the creation of journal entry according to the previously selected criteria.

After the successful posting the program shall display the prepared journal entry.

Posting shall not be performed if the value of the calculated depreciation is equal to 0. In this case an error is returned (see No records to post!). In this case it is recommended that you check in the depreciation report why has depreciation been calculated in the amount of 0 (perhaps you are trying to calculate depreciation for the period in which it has already been calculated or there is no base for depreciation, and so on.)

000001.gif If depreciation/revaluation report has already been posted you receive a warning together with the number of journal entry where the report has been posted (see Report has been posted on journal entry XXX! Do you want to post it again).
