Search for Compensation Basis for over 30 Days

This option enables you to to calculate the compensation basis for the time of an employees absence.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 31 of the Health Care and Health Insurance Act the compensation basis is calculated of all gross income earnings which were paid to the employee in the year prior to the year of the absence from work and from which health contributions were paid. More detailed instructions of the compensation basis calculation can be found on the web page of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZZZS) in the Rules on the calculation of the salary compensations when absent from work chargeable to the supplementary pension insurance and on the submission of employer applications for the reimbursement of paid out compensations.

 

According to data from the previous year, the program will take these values and enter them in the Employee Files | Position/Salary | Salary Parameters. This way, the program will transfer data for the compensation calculation into the calculation formula.

Through the selected data and the information on the valuation index of basis for calculating compensation the program will calculate the valuation index and the compensation for the time of absence.

 

1. To get correct data for the compensation basis, you have to previously ensure data about the employee's salary in the previous year or the year from which the basis is to be picked. Data for fields Del17, Del18 and Del19 Employee Files w Position/Salary | Salary Parameters panel are equal to data from the income reports. Because of that, you draw them at the end of a fiscal year automatically. You can additionally edit these data (i.e. you can manually add data about the employee's gross income for other employer).

The Hourly Rate which is a basis for the calculation of the sick pay can be calculated in two ways by using the appropriate formula:

  • by a usual procedure through division: #Del17# / #Del19#. This expression does not round-up the gross hourly rate.
  • However, the refund is usually calculated with the gross hourly rate that is rounded up to 2 decimal places. For this purpose you can use the expression #UPN# (hourly rate of the compensation which is rounded-up to 2 decimal places). The expression #UPN# is an equivalent to the expression #Del17# / #Del19#, and is rounded-up to 2 decimal places.

 

2. The program will calculate the Valuation Index of basis for calculating compensation at a payroll. The program rounds-up the factor on the fourth decimal place (equal to the index that is rounded-up to 2 decimal places). In calculation formulas you can refer to this field with the variable #IndN# (compensation index). To calculate the Valuation index of compensation you have to define data about the average salary and hours worked in a month in the register of average salaries.

000001.gif WARNING! You can enter in the register of average salaries data which can be used for the calculation of Tax Basis, meaning average salary for the month before last. You can use for the valuation of basis for calculating compensation average salaries for two months further on.

Example: You are searching the average salary for the October 1999. The certain average salary has been used for the calculation of the income tax in December 1999. The average salary for the October can be found in the record with the period number 1999-12.

For the easiest examples you can directly use the annum's average salary from which the basis has been selected. Enter this average salary with the period number 00. Example for the year 1999:
