Specifying a Deliver-By Date

Using the delivery dates that you’ve already confirmed for your customers, you can use several methods to specify a delivery date for the supplier.

Let’s suppose you have the following data: you’ve received the following orders for the item IDENT.

Quantity Deliver By Date
1123 not specified
2301 not specified
10 24.04.07
900 30.04.07
1100 25.05.07
5000 26.06.07

1. Use the fixed delivery period for this supplier

In this case, enter the desired deliver-by date in the Deliver By field and select the Use for All option. All lines of the purchase orders will have the same deliver-by date. Of course, in this case, the program will not use information in the Delivery Offset field.

2. For lines without a confirmed delivery date, a fixed delivery period can be used

In this case, enter the desired deliver-by date in the Deliver by field. Do not select the Use for All option. All lines of sales orders that do not have a confirmed deliver-by date will receive a deliver-by date. The remaining lines will remain unchanged (the deliver-by date from the sales orders will be used). Of course, information from the Delivery Offset field will be used for the remaining lines (lines with deliver-by dates from the sales orders).

3. The deliver-by date for the supplier should 10 days before the confirmed date for delivery to customer

In this case, enter “10” in the Delivery Offset field. This means that the deliver-by date in the purchase order will be 10 calendar days before the deliver-by date that you’ve given to the customer:

4. The supplier's delivery period can be found in the Items register

In the Item register | Stock panel, in the Delivery Within field the value 15 is entered. Meaning, the delivery date for the supplier will be 15 days before the confirmed date for delivery you will set for the delivery to the customer.

In this case, enter -1 in the Delivery Offset field. This means that the information in the Deliver within field in the Items register will be used.
