Provides answers to the following types of questions:

How were customer xy's orders distributed over time?

In which month did customer xy make the most purchases?

How many times per year did customer xy purchase goods between 2000 and 2005?

In which of the last ten years did customer xy make purchases?

Approximately* how many times a year would customer xy make purchases if, each month, they made as many purchases as they made in the month of May?

Metrics:

Number of purchases (calculated per year): NUMBER OF DAYS IN YEAR multiplied by NUMBER OF PURCHASES divided by NUMBER OF DAYS IN PERIOD

Example:

A value of 365 would mean an order was placed each day in the period in question.

Explanation:

* - the variable number of days must be kept in mind
