Wizards – Journal Entry

Additional functions for journal entries can be accessed from the Wizards menu on the form for manual posting. The (Wizards) button can be accessed from the menu Financials | Posting by selecting the journal entry document and clicking the  button in the toolbar.

The following functions are available:

• Account balance: Shows account balance before the currently selected journal entry was created, amount of the journal entry and the current total account balance. For more information, see the chapter Account balance XXX Before journal entry XXX On journal entry YYY Total balance ZZZ
• Account Source
• Find document: Opens the document specified in the Document field of the selected journal entry.
• Find Document – Automatic Posting: Opens the document which the selected journal entry pertains to if it was created with automatic posting. If the journal entry was created manually, an error message is returned  (see the chapter Incorrect document type!).
• Find Linked Document: Opens the document specified in the Link field of the selected journal entry.
• Renumber Positions
• Split by distribution Key: Enables the journal entry item to be distributed among individual departments according to the predefined distribution key. 
• Split Line: Enables the distribution of the local currency value of the journal entry. 

  WARNING Foreign currency posts cannot be distributed this way because of rounding differences in currency recalculation!

• Fill-In Cost Center and Department: Using this function, cost center can be entered in the journal entry line at a later stage. For more information, see the chapter Copy Cost Centers.
• Create Reverse by Prepayment
• Create Prepayment Invoice
• Data Exchange
