Show Message on Serial Number Expiration Date

This chapter describes the functionality of displaying a message when the selected serial number has expired on POSX invoice.

HINT

Using expiration dates reduces product loss due to unexpected expiry, and helps to avoid sending expired products to customers. However, only products that are tracked using serial numbers can be assigned expiration information. Once a serial number has been assigned, an expiration date can be set.

Case summary

Calvin Clerk, from the Sales department, wants the program to show a message if the selected serial number is expired. The settings are defined as follows:

  1. Setting the POS Document Type
  2. Reviewing Changes

1. Setting the POS Document Type

In order to activate the functionality of showing a message about the serial number expiration date, the person responsible selects Settings | Program | Document Types in the main menu
The Document Types register window opens.

The person responsible selects the Show message on serial expirational date checkbox, and saves the changes by clicking the  button in the toolbar.

WARNING

Changes to the settings must be saved so that they are reflected immediately

2. Reviewing Changes

The person responsible continues by checking the applied settings.

The person responsible opens the POSX Issue Document and creates an issue document, where they add an item with an expired serial number.

A warning message appears with the information that the serial number is expired.

The person responsible confirms the message by clicking the OK button.

Hint

For more information about creating a POS invoice, see the chapter Creating an POS Invoice
