APOLON - PANTHEON dashboard slideshow

APOLON is a solution that allows you to easily display dashboards from PANTHEON via preset scenarios in full-screen mode, which means that you can clearly see important information, data or statistics on the screen without unnecessary frames or distractions.

Case summary

Company manager would like to prepare a short brief presentation of key features of his company to their customers. For this purpose, company installed a big LCD screen that is connected to a computer in the company reception and one smart TV in their shop. The following steps will present how to create and APOLON scenario and run it on different devices.

  1. Create an APOLON scenario
  2. Create a task in Task Autorun
  3. Assign a license type to a user
  4. Run APOLON scenario on PA
  5. Run APOLON scenario on PAW

1. Create an APOLON scenario

APOLON scenarios are created within the Administration panel. Each database can have multiple scenarios.

Within each step, state the sequence of the process in clear and concise sentences. If they follow each other in points, it is best to use indents.

  • Text that contains name of field, button, menu or shortcut must be bold
  • We encourage the use of images for buttons and shortcuts: +
Hint

Duration that is set for individual dashboard, has to include also a dashboard load time. If your database includes a lot of data you should consider a prefetch option linked with prefetch autorun.

2. Create a task in Task Autorun

3. Assign a license type to a user

If user that was linked to APOLON scenario now logs into PANTHEON, APOLON scenario will automatically start. It will work with any license type, but it will use one of the available licenses for the whole duration of APOLON scenario. If company would have only one license, no one else would be able to log into the PANTHEON.

To prevent this, the will use separate APOLON license. As the plan to run one scenario on computer through PANTHEON and another through TV in PANTHEON Web Light, they purchased two separate licenses.

Once licenese are purchased, they linked them to individual user, created only for the purpose of APOLON:

  • Open an Administration panel.
  • Select desired user under Users and groups and open Settings tab (shown by default).
  • Assign the AP license type for APOLON in PANTHEON and WA license type for APOLON in PANTHEON Web Light.
  • Save settings.
Hint

Designated APOLON license is intended only to run APOLON scenario. It is not possible to preform any other actions with use of APOLON license.

4. Run APOLON scenario in PAW

Once all of the steps above are completed scenarios can now be started. Company adminstrator starts the PANTHEON and logs in with appropriate user and APOLON scenario will start automatically. If she want to cancel the scenario, she presses the Esc button on her keyboard and PANTHEON will return to the start screen. Ather that, she has to manually log out from the PANTHEON.

5. Run APOLON scenario in PA

To start APOLON scenario in PANTHEON Web Light, she opens a web browser to login to PANTHEON Web Light. To start APOLON scenario, she has to use a different URL than usual PANTHEON Web Light connection.  .../Dashboard/APOLON
