Creating an Invoice for Fixed Asset Sale

PANTHEON

Fixed assets (FA) that are no longer in use or no longer provide economic value to the organization may be sold as part of the disposal process. This allows the company to recover a portion of the asset’s value.

Warning
  • The asset must first be disposed of using the Disposal of Fixed Assets option from the right-click menu in the Value tab. Only after the disposal entry has been recorded does the Create Invoice for Fixed Asset Sale function become accessible.
  • For detailed instructions on how do dispose of FA, refer to the Disposing of Fixed Assets chapter.

Case summary

An old office computer has been disposed of. Since it is still functional, Adam Apprentice will purchase it. The person responsible will create an invoice for the sale of the disposed fixed asset, using the Fixed Assets register.

  1. Accessing the Fixed Assets Register
  2. Creating the Invoice
  3. Reviewing the FA

1. Accessing the Fixed Assets Register

Person responsible opens the Fixed Assets register by navigating to Financials | Fixed Assets | Fixed Assets.

The Fixed Assets register opens.

The person responsible uses the Toolbar functions to navigate to the disposed FA, for which the invoice will be created.

In the next step, the person responsible creates the invoice for the FA sale.

2. Creating the Invoice

The person responsible clicks the Value tab.

The person responsible right-clicks anywhere in the Value tab and selects the Create Invoice for Fixed Asset Sale feature from the menu.

A new window titled Create Invoice for Fixed Asset/Small Tool Sale opens, where the person responsible enters the following invoice details:

  • Customer: Adam Apprentice
  • Packing slip/Invoice/Vat: 28. 7. 2025
  • Document Type: 3000 (Sale)
  • Sales value: 150

After entering all the invoice details, the person responsible clicks the Create button, to generate the sales invoice based on the provided data.

An information window appears, confirming that the document has been successfully created. The person responsible clicks the OK button to close the window.

At the same time, the sales invoice window opens, displaying the data previously entered in the Create Invoice for Fixed Asset/Small Tool Sale window.

The person responsible has successfully created the sales invoice for the computer, which is now ready to be reviewed and sent to Adam Apprentice.

3. Reviewing the FA

In the Fixed Assets register, the person responsible uses the Toolbar functions to navigate to the sold FA.

The person responsible clicks the Value tab to confirm that a new line with Entry Type 10 - FA Sale has been created for the FA.

The person responsible has completed the sale of the computer.
