Deleting Fixed Asset Disposal

PANTHEON

If the disposal of a fixed asset (FA) has been recorded incorrectly, it can be deleted using the Delete FA Disposals form. This form ensures that both the journal entry in the General Ledger and the corresponding line with the Entry Type 6 – Disposal of fixed asset from the Value tab are simultaneously deleted.

Case summary

Wrong computer has been disposed of. The person responsible will delete the corresponding disposal.

This is done as follows

  1. Accessing the Value Tab
  2. Deleting the Fixed Asset Disposal

1. Accessing the Value Tab

Person responsible opens the Fixed Assets register by navigating to Financials | Fixed Assets | Fixed Assets.

The Fixed Assets register opens.

The person responsible uses the Toolbar functions to navigate to the incorrectly disposed FA.

The person responsible clicks the Value tab with the disposal Entry Type.

In the next step, the person responsible deletes the fixed asset disposal.

2. Deleting the Fixed Asset Disposal

To delete the disposal, the person responsible right-clicks anywhere within the Value tab and selects the Delete FA disposal feature.

A new window titled Posting of Fixed Assets opens on the Delete FA Disposals tab, displaying a list of all disposed FA from the register.

The person responsible selects the computer from the list, which will have its disposal deleted, by checking the box in the Sel. (select) column next to it.

Once the computer is selected, the person responsible clicks the Delete Disposal button. This action automatically removes the disposal journal entry from the General Ledger, as well as the Entry Type 6 - Disposal of Fixed Assets record from the Value tab.

After clicking Delete Disposal, an information window appears confirming the restoration. The person responsible clicks OK to proceed.

The person responsible has successfully deleted the FA disposal.
