Item type C – Compound Goods is used in case when you want to monitor basic (parent) item stock both in terms of quantity and value. At the same time you can view status of stock for child item that can be found in specification.

Example:

You received COMPOUNDITEMC from supplier. You receive and issue these items. COMPOUNDITEMC consists of COMPONENT01 (component 01) and COMPONENT02 (component 02) items. Let us say you would like to create a quantity list of components on stock for informative purposes.

What next?

1. Determining Warehouse for Compound Goods

Enter warehouse in Administration Panel | Goods | General to create a list of child items (quantity). The corresponding warehouse should be defined as the warehouse for monitoring stock. Type of valuation should be set to 0 - No Valuation (see non-valuation warehouse - type C).

2. Items Register

Enter ID of compound goods as well as IDs of component items in the Items register.

1. Component ID

First enter IDs of child items:

  • COMPONENT 01 (constituent part 01), for example item type 200
  • COMPONENT 01 (constituent part 01), for example item type 300

Use item type 200 – type B.

2. ID of Compound Goods

Enter ID of compound goods in the second stage:

  • COMPOUNDITEMC, item type 201, type C

Enter norms for converting parent ID to components in the Specification panel.

  • COMPONENT01 (component 1), 1pcs
  • COMPONENT02 (component 2), 1pcs

3. Recording Goods Received

When receiving goods enter quantity of the parent item received. Let us say that you are receiving 10 pieces of COMPOUNDITEMC. The stock is with this charged with compound goods both in terms of quantity and value.

Becasue you selected item type C you can also view the currently available stock list for items COMPONENT 01 and COMPONENT 02. They make up item COMPOUNDITEMC. This stock SHOWS ONLY QUANTITY and in this way does not influence the stock value.

4. Issuing Goods and Tracking Stock

Following from everything said up till now the price movements and stock is tracked ONLY FOR SALE ITEMS (in our case: COMPOUNDITEMC). That is why both sales orders and issue of goods is entered as issuing item COMPOUNDITEMC.

Warehouse card containing child items COMPONENT 01 and COMPONENT 02 shows stock quantity status of these two elements.

5. Warehouse Card

Only those transactions that have been actually received and issued to or from stock are shown on the warehouse card (unlike the current stock overview). Thus you can display and subsequently print the warehoouse card only for COMPOUNDITEMC. You will not find the components among the transactions.
