Shepherd dog

Some dog breeds are bred for the purpose of guarding a herd (flock) from predators. Such dogs are present at the pasture with the herd at all times. The owners of these dogs sign a special declaration, which officially registers the dog as a shepherd dog. 

In this chapter, we will present an example of creating a declaration for a shepherd dog. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinary | Code lists |​ Code list of owners and animals.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EXAMPLE Owner Nedeljko Jezero reported to the veterinary station that his dog is bred for the purpose of guarding a flock of sheep. For this purpose, the receptionist prepares a Declaration of the owner about the shepherd dog, which the owner signs. The procedure is described below.

• The responsible person in the veterinary clinic first searches for the code of the owner or the dog. The detailed procedure for searching for the owner is described in the chapter Searching for the owner or animal in the code list.

  WARNING If the owner is not yet registered in the PANTHEON VET program, the responsible person first registers the owner, then the animal. For more detailed instructions, see the chapter Adding a new owner.

• In the tab Dogs mark in the selection box that the dog is Shepherd dog (by clicking, assign an orange checkmark).

TIP By marking the dog as a Shepherd dog, the responsible person can prepare a printout of the Declaration of the owner about the shepherd dog, which is signed by the dog's owner. For more details, see the chapter XXXX.
