Interwarehouse Transfers

Interwarehouse transfers within the system

For companies with multiple warehouses, there is a need to transfer items between warehouses.

In PANTHEON, we define a one-way transfer between warehouses with a special document type format. On the one hand, this relieves the issuing warehouse and burdens the receiving warehouse on the other.

So, instead of two documents we can make only one (as long as the receiving and issuing warehouse are in the same system, dislocated – warehouses that are not connected through a computer – are treated differently).

This chapter presents an example of interwarehouse transfers.

Explanation of the expanding flowchart:

  • The flowchart defines both directions of transfers between warehouses: Warehouse 1 (Wholesale warehouse), Warehouse 2 (Retail warehouse).

  • Document type 2000 relieves the Wholesale warehouse and burdens the Retail warehouse (in terms of material accounting and subsidiary accounts).

  • The 2100 document type works in reverse, relieving the retail warehouse and burdening the wholesale warehouse.

The above flowchart shows how and with what document type the transfer between warehouses takes place, i.e., the unloading of the warehouse of issue and, on the other hand, the loading of the receiving warehouse.

HINT

First, we suggest you create a movement of material and goods flowchart, and then work on defining the document types in PANTHEON.
