Activate Touch Screen

This chapter describes the functionality for activating touch menus for POS issue document screens.

HINT

A touch screen is an electronic screen that is also an input device. The user interacts with the computer, tablet, smartphone, or touch-controlled device using hand gestures and finger movements to touch images, move elements, or type words on the screen. Most commonly, touch screens are used in restaurants, bars, markets, etc.

Case summary

Carla Cafe wants to install touch screens to facilitate the way of working in the bar. This is done as follows:

  1. Setting the POS Document Type
  2. Reviewing Changes

1. Setting the POS Document Type

In order to activate touch menus on POSX issue documents, the person responsible selects Settings | Program | Document Types in the main menu.
The Document Types register window opens.

The person responsible goes to Touch screen settings and selects the Activate touch screen checkbox
In addition to activating the touch screen, the person responsible must also specify suggestions for Main touch menu, Shortcuts and Positions TM.

HINT

For more information about creating main menus and shortcuts, see the chapter POS Touch Setup.

The person responsible saves the changes by clicking the  button in the toolbar.

WARNING

Changes to the settings must be saved so that they are reflected immediately.

2. Reviewing Changes

The person responsible continues by checking the applied settings by selecting Goods | Issue | POS | POS BAR in the main menu. The issue document window opens and the person responsible can now use the touch screen, the process is confirmed.

Hint

For more information about POSX, see the chapter POSX invoice
