Create Journal Entry

Create Journal Entry

You can create a new journal entry with which to post the selected documents.

Select the Create option and specify the following:

Document type The document type to be posting with which the journal entry will be created.

Period date The period date of the journal entry (by default: the current date).
Posting date The posting date of the journal entry, i.e. the date when the journal entry is created  (by default: the current date).

The selected documents can alternatively be posted to an existing journal entry. Select the Append option and specify the journal entry to which you want to add posts.

After you specify all the parameters, click the Posting button.

Before posting is performed, PANTHEON checks if all the required data is specified. If not, documents are not posted and a list of errors is returned.

If the error occured due to a lack of information, a message appears that the posting is finished. Yet the ID of the journal entry to be created is not displayed (see Posting complete!).

If automatic posting was performed without any errors being returned, a message appears that the operation was successful displaying the ID of the created journal entry (see Posting successful! Journal entry XXX!).
