Creating Work Orders

Work Orders in PANTHEON are virtual documents that link documents connected to manufacturing. Work Orders are created on the basis of Sales Orders or Plans. New Work Orders can be created directly from Plan or Schedule documents, or Sales Orders.

A new Work Order can also be created from the Process Work Orders window and then linked to the corresponding document. This chapter presents a case of creating a Work Order in this way.

HINT

For more information about creating WOs from a Schedule, read THIS CHAPTER.

For more information about Sales Orders, read THIS CHAPTER.

CASE SUMMARY

Through the Process Work Orders window, Marc Manufacture is going to create new WOs from Sales Order 22-0100-000012, as agreed with the person responsible from Sales. This is done as follows:

  1. Opening the Create WO From WO Processing Tool
  2. Selecting a Sales Order
  3. Creating WO From WO Processing
  4. Reviewing Created Orders and General Data

1. Opening the Create WO From WO Processing Tool

To open the Create WO From WO Processing window, the person responsible selects Manufacturing | Work Orders in the toolbar. A Process Work Orders window opens. Among shortcuts in the toolbar, the person responsible selects (Create WO). An empty Create WO From WO Processing window opens.

2. Selecting a Sales Order

Next, the person responsible selects the Sales Order from which Work Orders will be created. In this case, the order selected is order 22-0100-000012 from customer INTERSPORT d.o.o., for 5 pcs of the LARA3 tent.

To select an order, the person responsible clicks the magnifying glass icon () next to the Order field. A new Select Sales Order window opens.

Into the Criteria section, the person responsible enters filters for searching orders. Into the Customer field, the person responsible enters INTERSPORT d.o.o. and in the Order Date From field, 1.01.2022. The selected fields are displayed by clicking the Refresh button.

All orders from customer INTERSPORT d.o.o. created from January 2022 are displayed.

HINT

Work Orders can also be created directly from the order document by clicking the (Transfer Orders to WO) button.

All displayed orders are marked by default. By right-clicking and selecting the Deselect All option, the person responsible unmarks all lines. Then, the person responsible checks the checkbox by the order 22-0100-000012. By clicking the Transfer button, the selected order is transferred to the Create WO From WO Processing button.

3. Create WO From WO Processing

Into the Create WO From WO Processing window, data from the linked order is automatically transferred. Before creating a WO, the data can be edited if needed. The person responsible also selects data that must be copied from an item's Basic BOM.

In this case, the person responsible also selects the checkbox by the Prod. Waste/Scrap field, so data about scrap and waste is also transferred.

Into the Note field, the person responsible enters a note if needed.

By clicking the Create button and confirming the warning window, the WO is created.

A Created work orders window appears, containing data about created WOs. Six WOs have been created, one for a product and five for semi-finished products that compose the finished product LARA3.

HINT

For more information on criteria for copying to WO and selecting orders, read THIS CHAPTER.

4. Reviewing Created Orders and General Data

Like in the WO overview and filtering case, the person responsible uses filters to display newly created WOs in the Process Work Orders window.

To view details about a specific Work Order, the person responsible clicks the button in the Work Order Details window on the right, and views WO details for semi-finished product LARA3_DOOR.

The General tab displays all data the program copied from the Sales Order from which the WO was created, including the note the person responsible has added in the process of creating.

The Parameters field displays the data about the method of creating the WO.

Item LARA3_DOOR is a semi-finished product and a component of the finished product LARA3, so the general WO data for LARA3_DOOR includes the information about the Parent WO for the final product for which it was created. Data about the linked order are also visible.

HINT

On the General tab, you can edit WO data, except in fields coloured grey that get their data from other documents.

Selecting the Show WO structure checkbox displays WO structures or WO hierarchy on the left side of the form.

The person responsible continues the WO preparation before creating in other tabs of the Work Order Details window.
