Setting up autostart for checks

Checks on the Check Posts form can be executed automatically. This can be set up in the in the panel Accounting Dashboard in the Administration Panel.

We can set which checks will be executed and when along with other parameters. This is useful if we deal with multiple large databases that take some time to complete checks, so the checks can be performed for example at night or after the working hours.

Below you can see a use case for setting up the autostart for checks.

Case summary

The person responsible wants to set up autostart for checks for TECTA database that will be executed at 22:00 hrs each monday. They do this by following these steps:

  1. Opening Accounting Dashboard panel
  2. Selecting the database
  3. Creating new task
  4. Setting up the task

1. Opening Accounting Dashboard panel

The person responsible opens the Accounting Dashboard panel in Administration Panel.

They do this by selecting Settings | Program | Administration Panel and then selecting Settings | Company | Accounting Dashboard.

2. Selecting the database

They continue with selecting the database on the server.

In the section Databases on Server they deselect all databases with right mouse click and selecting Deselect all.

Then they select the checkbox next to the TECTA Plc. (EU_TECTA) database.

Next they create a new task.

3. Creating new task

They click on the General tab.

Then they click on the Autostart button.

The window IRIS 1003096 - Do you want to set up the Accounting Console to run automatically? opens.

They select Add new task to Autodoctoring.

This opens the Task Autorun panel and creates new task.

The person reposnsible continues to set up the task.

4. Setting up the task

In the Execution tab of the Task Autorun panel they select Recurring in the Run field.

In the Start field they select the date of next monday, in our case 26.08.2024 and time of 22:00.

In the Repeat Every they enter 7 Days.

When clicking anywhere in the Administration Panel, the changes are saved.

Hint

To see the use case of how to execute checks, see the chapter Execute controls.
