GMID-s

Animal owners can have their animals in various locations (pasture in the mountains, stables at different addresses, temporary housing of animals in another owner's stable, etc.). Official codes are obtained for locations, i.e. G-MID. In Slovenia, farm animalsmust be location-registered in accordance with the law, so that the GMID code is specified.  

In this chapter, we will present an example of entering an additional location code for animals (GMID). The functionality is located in the menu Veterinary | Code lists |​ Code list of owners and animals.

CASE DESCRIPTION The owner of the animal, Eva Angus, took part of the cattle herd to mountain pasture during the grazing season. Since these animals also need to be treated against disease, she reports the new GMID location at the veterinary station. The receptionist at the veterinary station will create a new GMID code so that the animals can be properly recorded later. The procedure is described below.

• The responsible person at the veterinary station searches for the animal owner in the code list of owners and animals. The detailed search procedure is described in the chapter Find owners and animals - Simple.

• When she has the form Owner/Animal Entryand has the code open for owner Eva Angus, she clicks the button GMID-s.

• The form GMID Listopens, where the data is displayed in table form. 
• The responsible person enters the new location into the table of the form by first creating an empty row by pressing the Insert key on the keyboard.
• In the field GMID she enters: 100555987.
• In the field Address she enters: Pasture Community 10. 
• From the dropdown list in the field Post she selects the postal code: SI-1240.
• The responsible person enters the contact number in the field Contact: 01-652-9852.

TIP When creating a new record, the field Active is automatically checked (orange checkmark).

• In the field Note she enters any text: Mountain pasture - seasonal.
