Authorizations

In the Authorizations tab of the form Classification Scheme we have access to the permission settings for each classification. Authorizations (permissions) are used to determine which parts of the program and which program functions an individual user should have access to, i.e., group granted access and what level of access is allowed.

HINT

You can read more about authorizations in the technical manual, in the chapter Authorizations.

Below is a description of the tab and its elements.

Table of Content

  1. Filters
  2. Window for reviewing and assigning authorizations

1. Filters

On the Authorizations tab, you can limit the display of authorization settings for individual users on a specific classification.

WARNING

Hierarchy of authorizations:

  • None - no rights.
  • Read – permission to read.
  • Write – permission to read and write.
  • Delete (maximum rights) – permission to read, write and delete.

The section contains the following elements:

None

Select the checkbox if you want to display the authorizations of users and groups with no permissions.

Read

Select the checkbox if you want to display the authorizations of users and groups with the permission to read.

Write

Select the checkbox if you want to display the authorizations of users and groups with the permission to write.

Delete

Select the checkbox if you want to display the authorizations of users and groups with the permission to delete.

Show all

By default, this box is checked. It shows us all the authorizations.

Active user

By default, this checkbox is checked. If we want inactive users to appear in the list below, check this box.

HINT

Inactive users are colored red.

User

In the field from the list, select the user for whom you want to review or set classification authorizations.

2. Window for reviewing and assigning authorizations

According to the selected filters in the header of the tab, the bottom of the window displays information about users and groups. Here we can individually set permissions for each classification. The section contains the following columns:

Name

The defined group code or user.

Title

The name of the user is entered in the field.

Defined

Authorization is predefined.

Acquired from user group

Mark the checkbox if you want the user or the group to take over permissions from the parent group or user.

Basic permissions

With the selection box in front of each option, we choose what rights a certain user has. Below, they are listed according to the hierarchy from the lowest to the highest rights:

  • None - no rights.
  • Read – permission to read.
  • Write – permission to read and write.
  • Delete (maximum rights) – permission to read, write and delete.

Full

Full rights - Delete is the broadest authorization. It is allowed to read, write, change and delete documents, registers, etc.

Modified date

The date when the last change to the authorization settings for a specific user was created is recorded.

Modified by

It records which user made the last change to the authorization settings for a given user.
