General journal report

The General journal allows you to view the posts made in different journal entries in a selected period.

PANTHEON allows different types of report, which enable you to customize the level of detail of the general journal report for one or more journal entries.

Below is an example of how to create a general journal report in PANTHEON.

CASE SUMMARY

Ashley Accountant, Head of Finance and Accounting at Tecta, wants to create a general journal report for the invoices received in the period from 1.1. to 6.5.2022. This is done as follows:

1. Selecting the report type

2. Defining the criteria of the general journal report

3. Selecting document type

4. Selecting the type of the general journal report

1. Selecting the report type

To create a general journal report, the person responsible selects Financials | Reports | General journal.

A window General journal opens where the report criteria are specified.

2. Defining the criteria of the general journal report

In this case, the person responsible wants to create a report for all journal entries, which is why the person responsible does not select anything in the fields No. from/to.

The person responsible defines the period of the journal entry. In the fields Target date from/to, the starting date 1.1.2022 and the end date 6.5.2022 are entered.

3. Selecting document type

Next, the person responsible specifies the document type. As mentioned above, the person responsible wants to create a general journal report for the invoices received in the period from 1.1. to 6.5.2022.

In the section Document types, the person responsible selects the document type 4300 - Invoices received.

The list of document types does not include record-only document types.

WARNING

You can also use a shortcut from the right-click menu to make it easier to select document types. For more information on this shortcut, see the chapter Multiple selection lists.

4. Selecting the type of the general journal report

Different Report types are available. The person responsible defines the level of detail for the data from the selected journal entries or journal entry lines displayed on the report.

The person responsible selects the report type 064 - General journal - detailed by journal entries. This report provides all of the most important data from each line of the journal entry.

HINT

For a description of the Report types, see the chapter General journal.

The person responsible then clicks the bottom right button Report.

The general journal of Tecta's invoices received for the period from 1.1. to 6.5.2022 is displayed.

WARNING

In order to avoid selecting the same report criteria upon each report creation, you can save them to a template.
