For some analysis and Out-of-the-Box Dashboards account settings must be entered. For example, if account setting for Payables to Suppliers is set as 22, all posts where account in posting starts with 22 will be selected in query.

Out-of-the-Box Dashboards that use account settings are, for example Quick Overview, Ecological Aspect of Business, Receivables Overview ...

We are changing entry format from account to financial formula format, that is used in financial reports in Pantheon. From picture above you can see in which fields this can already be used - the character "#" is used.
