The Service module is intended for companies that in the framework of their operations render service activities or issue warranty for products sold. Typically of service-related activities is that transactions of receiving and issue must be balanced. That is, the number of articles issued must correspond to articles received, and vice versa.

Hence, a claims warehouse is predefined for service activity. Stock tracking is otherwise performed here (checking of received and unissued quantities). On the other hand, stock valuation will not be performed since internal records are used for monitoring the flow of goods and services. The latter is not chargeable. Billable issues of goods and services are recorded using a regular issued invoice which is linked to the service order (see service orders and billable issues).

In short:

  • to receive and issue from service warehouse (claims warehouse) only those items and services which are not chargeable,
  • and on the other hand, to issue items and (render services) sold or charged to the customer from the main, which is by default, the wholesale warehouse. This way you can bypass transfer of goods (which actually is not service goods) to the service warehouse. Such an issue made to service account can be carried out using the same document type; like in sales.
