Customs Duty
Calculation
The checkbox for calculating the customs duty will affect the
division of the customs duty that you will enter in costing to
individual invoice lines. It is required to determine the purchase
value of goods, or more precisely its debit with customs duty.
- From Costing: The value of customs duty entered in
costing will be divided amongst the
lines based on the customs tariff in the receiving document line. This
information is entered by default from the Costing/Pricing panel in the
Items register.
Because the customs duty base differs from the base for calculating the
purchase price, the information about the customs tariff in the Costing/Pricing
panel of the Items register is not actual. For this reason, we advise
against using this method for calculating customs duty.
- From Custom Tariffs: he value of customs duty entered in the costing will be divided amongst the
lines based on the customs tariff entered in the Customs Tariffs
register.
Information about the customs tariff used for a particular item can be
found in the Items register.
Regardless of the customs tariff entered in the calculation in the Items
register, the customs duty will be divided based on the customs tariff
entered in the Customs Tariff register.
This is why it is also the default setting.
Example:
Item 1:
- Purchase value - 1.000
- customs duty rate (%) from the customs tariff register - 5
- customs duty rate (%) in the calculation of position of
receiving - 8
Item 2:
- Purchase value - 1.000
- customs duty rate (%) from the customs tariff register - 1
- customs duty rate (%) in the calculation of position of receiving - 2
The value of in calculated customs duty in costing: 100
(To simplify this example, for the calculation of customs duty you have the equal
basis in both items. In the reality you would have to find the joint value of
the customs duty basis, in which all items with the entered customs duty rate would
be included.)
1. Division when From Costing option is selected
Calculation:
- Item 1: 100/(8+2) * 8 = 80
- Item 2: 100/(5+1) * 2 = 20
2. Division when From Custom Tariffs option is selected
Calculation:
- Item 1: 100/(5+1) * 5 = 83,33
- Item2: 100/(5+1) * 1 = 16,6
