Feeding

Diet Planning

Feeding module is designed for preparation of feeding plans, usage of feeds and calculation of feed costs. In Pantheon Farming feeding module is divided in different parts.

Nutrient content setting

Nutrient content setting is used to insert nutrient content of individual feed. Nutrient contents can also be imported from web service (where applicable).

Preparation of feeding plan

In this part user prepares feeding plans for individual animal groups. Feeding plans are separated by animal groups and different types of farming (where calculations are different).

Each plan is composed from three parts on single mask. Parts one and three are the same for all plans, part two is different based on type of animals in feed.

Feed header

Feed header is used for creating a feed and describing it. In this part user can set feed name (code is also created automatically). Feed price has to be set on

Meal ID Diet ID. This ID also automatically creates new item in items.
Meal name Name of diet. This name is also the same as name in items
Status

Status of diet. Status is used to determine if diet is active or not (same as status in items).

Description Detailed description of diet.
Purpose This determines, what type of feed is user creating. Calculation will change based on this. For cattle we have milk and meat types.
Date Entered Date of diet entry.
Valid From Date of validity start.
Valid To Date of validity end.

Feed details

Calculation of feed's performance. Based on animal type in this feed calculation are made from feed nutrient composition and quantities. Calculations change based on what type of diet is user preparing.

Feed details also include cost calculation. This is a price for one unit of feed based no feed components price. Price has to be set on items under calculation, field BOM.

Feed composition

Area to compose feed ration from different feeds. Feed has to be inserted in items and administration panel with nutrients. User can only select feed from drop-down and insert a quantity.

In the footer of feeding composition there are summary data separated by Dry matter and roughage feed.

No. Number of feed.
Fodder Type Fodder type. Based on this entry composition of feed is calculated differently (for roughage multiplied by DM, for concentrate by quantity).
Component ID

ID of feed. Feed has to be inserted in items and administration panel with nutrients for user to be able to choose it from dropdown.

Description Detailed description of diet.
Number of label Quantity of feed used.
U/M Unit of measurement for feed.
Price Total price of feed component.
SS (kg) Total quantity of Dry Matter in kg.
SVl (g/kg) Total quantity of Crude Fiber in kg.
NEL (MJ) Total quantity of Net Energy for Lactation in MJ.
ME Total quantity of Metabolical Energy in MJ.
PSB (g/kg) Total quantity of Digestible Crude Protein in kg.
SB (g/kg) Total quantity of Crude Protein in kg.
Ca (g/kg) Total quantity of Calcium in kg.
P (g/kg) Total quantity of Phosphorus in kg.
K (g/kg) Total quantity of Potassium in kg.
Na (g/kg) Total quantity of Sodium in kg.
