Pig fattening target weight calculation
Pig fattening, target weight calculation
Pig fattening module enables calculation of date, when target weight will be achieved. When new group of pigs is purchased, user sets target weight and software will calculate date when this weight will be achieved. To be able to calculate expected date, some settings need to be prepared:
1. FADN group settings. User first needs to divide FADN groups by weight. This information is used in step 2 to set weight gains for each of this group. User can set this values for all groups that have:
- Type of animal = Pig
- Sex = Any
- Ear Tag = Not assigned
In case below settings for group 043 are as group from 0 to 69 kg and 045 as group from 70 to 120 kg.

2. Expected weight gains. When FADN groups are divided by weight, expected weight gains have to be set for each group. This enables calculation of expected date in step 3. Expected weight has to be inserted as daily growth in g/day. In case shown below for piglets (to 69 kg) expected weight gain is 500 g/day and for fattening pigs (70 to 120 kg) expected weight gain is 600 g/day.

3. Target weight setting. When user adds new animals to pig fattening, he needs to record target weight. To be able to calculate this information, user needs to insert total group weight and target animal weight. In case shown below purchase of 10 animals was made with total group weight 500 kg. This means average weight per animal is 50 kg. Our target weight (of individual animal) is 110 kg.

When this information is saved, expected date is calculated automatically. In case presented above, expected date when average weight of animal in this group will be 110 kg is 17.4.2017.

This date is also marked in calendar with special event, that can be colored differently.

Target weight can also be manually changed directly in grid. Date will be recalculated in this case.

If new weight is inserted in the mean time, date is also recalculated. In case shown below, new group weight 540 kg was added on 5.1.2017.
