Dog entry

When the owner brings their animal to the veterinary clinic for the first time, the receptionist or veterinarian registers it in the program, where a unique code for the animal is created.

In this chapter, we will present an example of creating a new code for a dog. The functionality is located in the menu  Veterinary | Codebooks | Owner and animal codebook, tab Dogs.

TIP

Read more detailed information about the program forms in PANTHEON VET Guide, in the chapter Dogs.

CASE DESCRIPTION

The owner, Peter Pritlikavi, brings his new dog named Archie to the veterinary clinic for the first time to arrange the transfer of ownership for the animal. During the first visit to the veterinary clinic, the veterinarian or receptionist first registers the animal in the codebook. The process of creating a new code for the animal will be carried out with the following steps:

  1. Searching for the owner's code
  2. Entering data in the Basic Data tab
  3. Entering data in the Dogs tab
  4. Printing data about the animal

1. Searching for the owner's code

The responsible person at the veterinary clinic first checks or searches for the owner's code, where they can then create a new code for the animal.

The detailed procedure for searching for the owner is described in the chapter Searching for the owner or animal in the codebook.

WARNING

If the owner is not yet registered in the PANTHEON VET program, the responsible person first registers the owner and then the animal. Detailed instructions can be found in the chapter Adding a new owner.

2. Entering data in the Basic Data tab

The detailed procedure is described in the chapter Animal entry (general).

WARNING

In the field Animal ID there is a character count control. When entering data for a dog, the program warns if the length of the entry is not appropriate. In this case, it returns the message: 'Animal ID does not have 15 characters. Check the length!'

3. Entering data in the Dogs tab

After entering the basic data of the animal, based on the selected type of animal, the appropriate tab is created. In our case, the Dogs tab was created. The responsible person will then enter more detailed information about the dog. In the field

  • Pedigree number they enter the pedigree data: SLRPp-00085. From the dropdown menu in the field

  • Completeness of accompanying documents they select: 1-Complete. In the field

  • Origin (o) they select from the dropdown menu: Born in RS. The responsible person enters the document number in the field

  • Passport number (o) : SI321456. They also complete the data in the field

  • Issue date (o) of the document: 19. 08. 2022. They enter data in the field

  • Mother's chip (o) : 705321459520001.From the dropdown menu, they select data for the fields

  • Size (o), Coat length (o), and Color (o). After weighing the animal, they enter the data in the field

  • Body weight . In our case, they enter: 3.The responsible person also enters data in the field

  • Registration date : 19.08.2022.When they finish entering the data, they click the button

  • Save , located in the function bar.TIP

Label

(o) in the field name indicates that the data is mandatory for entry. 4. Printing data about the animal

If the responsible person wants to check or print the data about the dog for the owner, they do so as follows.

They click the button

  • Print. A new form window opens Print owners and animals. The responsible person selects the printout: 6VM and clicks the button

  • Print.

TIP

For a narrower selection of data in the printout, you can use

Criteria. In each criteria field, you enter the desired criterion or select it from the dropdown menu. Read more detailed information about the program forms in PANTHEON VET Guide , in the chapterPrint owners and animals. A print preview opens, which the responsible person can print, save to the computer, etc.

  • TIP
