3316 Cannot post prior to opening date!

For security sake you enter under Administration Panel | Program Parameters | Financials | General the start date from the general ledger.  This date represents a start of the current fiscal year. When starting a new fiscal year that also means that the previous was ended. The financial statement is created and changing posts in the end fiscal year is no longer possible

The program does not allow posting of journal entries with the period date on, or prior to this date. 

The same holds true for the entry of cash receipts/disbursements prior to this date.

When attempting to perform posting on or prior to this date the following error occurs.

Solution:

1. You entered the wrong journal entry period date - change the journal entry period date.

2. Perhaps you entered the wrong closure date for the general ledger - check this under Administration Panel | Program Parameters | Financials | General. If you are about to change the date, you are OBLIGED to consult the accounting department or the person who is responsible for the entry of the date!!!
